The Punalu'u Bake Shop & Visitor Center is the southern-most bakery in the United States. Located on the Big Island on Highway 11, midway between Kailua-Kona and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Punalu'u Bake Shop is a welcome oasis for travelers. Situated on a beautifully landscaped 2-acre tropical estate, the bakery offers free samples of its renowned Hawaiian Sweetbread. Also available are delicious sandwiches, plate lunches, fresh salads, Ka'u coffee and an array of local bakery treats like malasadas and anpans.
